The "NEW" Sponsor-Our-Families Program
Welcome to the new Good Shepherd Sponsor-Our-Families Program. We invite you to become part of our extended family by helping to brighten the life of a member of our family in need in our community. We serve families who face unexpected crises that result in homelessness in our Family Centre, Women's and Youth Services program. Please help us to shelter these families from the storm and support them in making a new beginning.
Our Christmas Sponsor-Our-Families Program has been so successful and rewarding that we would like to extend it year round. We recognize the growing need for support for families in our community and therefore Good Shepherd is reaching out to offer them our help.
Your very generous donation will go directly to helping families under our Good Shepherd umbrella which provides emergency accommodation and support to many families at a time. We welcome help from individuals, families, businesses, faith-based organizations or groups. There are so many ways for you to help: Why not suggest to those you invite to special events such as weddings, showers and birthdays that they give a donation to Good Shepherd Sponsor-Our-Families Program in lieu of gifts?
Becoming a sponsor to one of our families is a wonderful way to enrich both your life and the lives of others. Your generous gift will help a family to succeed!
Ways to Help
Welcome Gift Baskets: In most cases families have little if anything with them when they arrive at Good Shepherd. By providing necessary toiletries such as shampoo, deodorant, shaving items, feminine products, etc., you will help alleviate their stress and help them feel welcomed and comfortable.
SAGE Family Camp Program: Each year, we give an opportunity to our families in our Women's Services Program, who have witnessed domestic violence, to experience the wonders of nature in a safe nurturing place at our SAGE Camp. You can help by sponsoring a camper!

Housewarming Basket: After their initial stay at one of our centres, our families make their way into our community. We help set them up in their new home by providing a few essentials such as a set of dishes, kitchen items, glasses, towels and sheets.
Back to School Donations: Items such as backpacks and school supplies for the children of our families are also greatly needed and appreciated throughout the year.
Financial Donations: There is always a need to provide funds to purchase items such as bus tickets for the families to attend doctor’s visits, interviews, and other necessary appointments.
Other Donations: We also like to offer families donated items for every day use or during their stay at Good Shepherd. These can include: grocery cards, laundry detergent, new socks, new underwear, T-shirts, and track pants, board games, books, imagination toys (Lego, building blocks) for the children.
Please consider becoming part of our special list of donors that we can call upon in a time of urgent need.
