Brennan House ACTS (After-care Transitional Supportive Housing) is a supportive transitional housing complex with six bachelor apartments that houses youth needing continued support after living at Brennan House.
Brennan House ACTS has a community room that is be used for meals, counselling, referrals and educational purposes. Each of the apartments is furnished with a Murphy bed, sofa, chair, window bench, end tables, kitchen table and chairs, fridge, stove and TV.
Residents are supported on-call by Brennan House staff at all times. A liaison youth support worker meets with each of the residents on a weekly basis based on their needs. Staff are available on site Wednesday from 12 to 8 p.m.
Each youth is required to sign a service agreement that entitles them to have access to staffing for their needs as they may arise. These needs range from life skills such as budgeting, cooking or cleaning to moral or social support.
Youth are responsible for paying their own cable and phone bills. All the other utilities are covered in the rent, which is 30% of their income.
