Assisted Living for Seniors

The focus of assistance in the Assisted Living Program is to promote and strengthen the individual’s health and social environment. We work with clients and families to find the best possible ways to maintain independent living while respecting the dignity and personal choices of the individual. The staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help clients on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis.

Community Support Services for Women & Children

Available as part of Good Shepherd’s Women’s Services; Violence Against Women Community Counselling, Child & Youth Counselling, Wellness Program, Learning Effective Anti-Violence in Families (LEAF), Legal Advocate, Family Court Support Worker, Good Shepherd Health Clinic, Comfort Foot Care.

Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Inc. provides supportive housing in Hamilton. Tenants are typically those with mental or physical disabilities, victims of domestic violence and seniors, men, women and families.

HOMES

HOMES (Housing with On-site, Mobile and Engagement Services) is a supportive housing program funded by the Ministry of Health and the Local Health Integration Network. HOMES provides housing and supports to people living with mental health issues who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of being homeless.

Martha House

Martha House is a secure and accessible, 40-bed emergency shelter for women and their children who are homeless and fleeing violence and abuse. Programs & Services; safe, short-term accommodation for women and their children in private family-style units, safety planning and emergency transportation to the shelter, if needed, referrals and advocacy for legal, medical, financial, employment, housing and community services.

Mary’s Place

Mary’s Place is a 20-bed emergency shelter for women 18 years and older. Mary’s Place provides safety, support and emergency accommodation to women dealing with homelessness, poverty, mental illness and/or violence. Programs & services; emergency accommodation and safety planning, referrals and advocacy for medical, legal and other community services, assistance in establishing permanent housing.

Regina’s Place

Regina’s Place is home to young moms and their children. Mothers aged 21 and younger, who are confronted with enormous responsibilities as they raise their babies, live in one of 15 fully furnished, subsidized transitional housing apartments. Originally opened as Angela’s Place, it was renamed Regina’s Place in June 2017 as a tribute to the memory of the late Sister Regina Brunelle.

Transitional Beds Program

The Transitional Beds Program is for high-risk patients after hospitalization and offers; 10-bed medical discharge program for adults of all genders, short-term care to support medical stabilization and recovery from acute illness or a medical condition, help facilitating timely hospital discharges, improved patient outcomes, including the potential for decreased re-admission to hospital and the emergency department, service to patients who, upon discharge from hospital, will be homeless, precariously housed, or facing a variety of circumstances that will significantly limit their access to health and community services.
