Steps to Health


Steps to Health is a health and lifestyle program for adults with a mental health diagnosis. The aim of the program is to help prevent chronic disease and enhance quality of life. Programs offered: Exercise, Cooking, Nutrition, Smoking Management and Weight Management. To qualify for this program, you must be: a resident of the Greater Hamilton Area, 18 years of age or older, have a mental health diagnosis.

To qualify for this program, you must be:

  • A resident of the Greater Hamilton Area
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have a mental health diagnosis

Current Intake: Visit our office at 143 Wentworth Street South, Hamilton, in the lower level to join the Steps to Health Program. Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. You are welcome to attend all programs once you have competed the paperwork at our office.

Whether you want to quit completely or just cut back, Breathe Easier can help you take control of your smoking.

Registration for this free program takes place at 100 Locke Street South. On Thursdays at 2:30 pm you will attend our regular meeting. Following the meeting you will meet with staff to complete the intake and receive nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).

You must attend this registration meeting before you can start receiving NRT.

Please note 100 Locke Street South is a Good Shepherd apartment building. Please buzz the superintendent to enter the building. Meetings take place in the community room on the first floor.
